Lovely opportunity for an experienced digital marketer with a passion for books/reading. Oxfordshire based.


Our client are a book-selling business with a difference. Ambitious, progressive and with sustainability at their core, they source over 500,000 used books per week with a singular mission – to stop these books going to landfill. They also sell new books and donate a book to one of their literacy partners for each purchase made.


The Senior Digital Marketing Executive will take the lead in contributing to all aspects of the digital marketing strategy. That will include:

- Creating and executing weekly, monthly and quarterly plans for website, social media and email
- Developing on-site merchandising and promotional plans in line with seasonal and social trends.
- Managing targeted email marketing campaigns and automations
- Planning a creative and engaging social media schedule
- Working with the product team to ensure the website experience is as optimised as possible
- Being aware of SEO optimisation
- Working with a data driven mindset – using analytics tools to monitor behaviour and results

This role is based in Oxfordshire with 3 days (Tues-Thur) per week in the office.


The ideal candidate for this Senior Digital Marketing Executive role will have a demonstrable track record as a digital marketeer in a B2C retail ecommerce environment. It is also important to our client that you have a love of books, reading and the world of publishing.

You will also demonstrate:
- Excellent working knowledge and understanding of key daily e-commerce KPIs
- Google Analytics proficiency
- Hands on experience using enterprise email marketing platforms including creating automated programmes
- Social media management including creating content calendars and coming up with engaging ideas
- Ability to write engaging and persuasive copy for all digital channels
- Ability to make creative/design adjustments in Photoshop or similar design software
- Understanding of core SEO principles, ensuring that content is always optimised
- Understanding of user experience and customer journey with ability to identify pain points and suggest improvements
- Experience of PPC and paid social would be an advantage
