A leading London cultural destination is seeking an Interim Head of Communications & External Affairs looking to shape strategy while remaining hands-on, during a major transformation and fundraising campaign.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Lead and deliver a communications and external affairs strategy aligned to organisational goals
• Oversee media relations, press campaigns, social media, and crisis communications
• Drive stakeholder engagement and advocacy across government, partners, and industry bodies
• Support delivery of a major capital fundraising campaign and high-profile launch activity
• Lead on brand messaging, tone of voice, and strategic positioning
• Use data and insights to optimise campaigns and report on performance
• Collaborate closely with senior leadership
• Provide direction across communications activity, ensuring consistency and impact

ABOUT YOU

• Significant experience in communications, PR, or external affairs
• Proven track record in stakeholder engagement 
• Strong media relations and campaign delivery experience
• Excellent writing, messaging, and storytelling skills
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and leadership teams
• Understanding of digital, social, and wider marketing channels
