I work with both small London start ups to large international corporations in the Financial Services/FinTech space!
Its pretty quiet in the F/S space at the moment – but a lot of that is because of summer holidays!!! Clients are away – or part of the team are – so hiring decisions can’t be made.
But it doesn’t mean we can’t get CVs over in the meantime!
I’d have to say this really varies – there is not often a ‘most common requirement’ from Clients, unless its F/S sector knowledge (!) Clients certainly like candidates who already have some knowledge in the F/S space.……
At the moment, I have requirements for CRM, Integrated, PR and social comms folk……. So a real mix!
Ooooh again, this really does vary but I might say F/S can pay pretty well compared to some other sectors and often has good benefits. This is not always the case with the start ups ,but they do sometimes offer share options as an attractive benefit.
Typically, good salary levels and benefits.
Some have really nice offices in great, central London locations.
All are offering hybrid working – so you get the best of both worlds.
And the sector itself can be really interesting – you may have never heard of the company but once you see what it is they actually offer either to a B2B or B2C audience, it can be really interesting work. F/S does not just mean High St Banks or Accountants!
