Paye candidates paid through the Stopgap payroll

No need to be puzzled by pensions. As a PAYE freelance worker on the Stopgap payroll, you will automatically be enrolled in the pension scheme that we have chosen: The People’s Pension.

Why?

The Government wants to encourage all of us to save for our retirement. So every employer and Employment Agency with agency workers on their payroll must enrol their workers into a qualifying pension scheme. This is called Automatic Enrolment.

How does it work?

Depending on your eligibility, your first deduction will be taken from your first payroll. This will trigger a welcome email from The People's Pension including an invitation to log onto their website to manage your personal pension. This is where you can opt-out of making pension contributions if you wish to do so and we will be notified to refund any contributions already made if applicable.

Questions?

The People's Pension will be the ones that look after and deal with any questions regarding your pension contributions but of course, we are here to help with any queries you may have.

Limited company candidates

If you are a Limited Company candidate you will need to check with your accountant as to whether your Limited Company needs to register with the Pension Regulator and provide Automatic Enrolment to your employees.
