The Serious Bit

Claudine is a Lead Consultant who looks after all freelance and permanent senior roles. You can read more about our approach to Senior Appointments here.  She works across the following sectors; automotive, beauty & cosmetics, consumer goods, electronics, entertainment, fashion, FMCG, food & drink, health, wellbeing & OTC, hotel & restaurants, household, telecommunications, retail, sport & leisure and travel & tourism.

After studying French and Italian at University, Claudine decided to escape the UK and did a TEFL course before teaching English as a foreign language in both Bangkok and northern Italy!

Having spent ten years living and working abroad, Claudine returned to the UK and joined a recruitment agency, falling in love with the buzzing environment and everyday interaction with people. However, the KPI, target driven approach adopted by other agencies didn’t appeal to her at all, and having read an article on Claire Owen (Leader of Vision and Values) and Stopgap in Recruiter magazine, she realised that The Stopgap Way was exactly the type of recruitment she wanted to do. And the rest, as they say, is history!

The Fun Bit

When I was little I wanted to be...

… an Olympic swimmer, because I spent every waking minute in the pool training and I loved it.

My worst job ever was...

…cleaning a bar, which included cleaning the men’s toilets….it still makes me shudder when I think about it!

The most daring thing I've ever done is...

…great white shark cage diving in South Africa.

The brand I am most passionate about is...

…Bravissimo/Pepperberry as this brand has made my life in terms of clothing and bras so much easier. They were the first to listen to certain ladies in the market and come up with a solution that didn’t resort to ugly over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders!

I just wanted to reiterate how grateful I am to you for your help when I first arrived in London. The Transport Museum was a family for me while in the UK and with a lot changing in my personal life during my time in London that job kept my safe and happy and gave me the stability I desperately needed to make sure I stayed here. I owe you a lot and I need you to understand the impact the amazing work you do and probably think nothing of can actually have on those of us you help to find employment. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in me and putting my name forward all those years ago. You are a superstar.

I just wanted to express my complete and utter thanks and appreciation for everything that you all and the Stopgap team did for me in helping me find a position.  I could not have dreamed for a better experience!

Claudine has proven to be very effective in submitting high quality candidates that both meet and exceed recruitment briefs. This is achieved from her extensive knowledge of the market place, fully understanding and challenging the client brief and her attention to detail.
