I am part of a job share with Jane Stephens and recruit for freelance roles in the following sectors; Charity, Education, Government & Public Sector, Pharmaceutical and the Healthcare & Medical sectors. Before joining Stopgap, initially in our Sydney office, I worked in several agencies working on through the line (but mainly direct) campaigns for clients such as Marks & Spencer, NatWest, 3 Mobile, The AA and London Transport. I work Monday and Tuesday in a job share with Jane Stephens.
Within 5 days I was back in an agency providing holiday cover for an ex colleague and ended up staying there for 2 years before joining the lovely Stopgap team in Sydney where I worked on both in house and agency roles on a freelance and permanent basis.
After several years of spinning plates and trying to please creative directors and clients, I decided to head to Australia for a year of travelling and fun. My love of cooking hasn't diminished and growing up by the sea has meant that I've got a love of seafood and the ability to gut fish on board a boat in a storm. Moving to Sydney was one of the most daring things I've done. It was meant to be for a year but it turned out to be seven. In my spare time you'll find me building elaborate Star Wars Lego models, volunteering at my children's school surrounded by yet more children, sampling wine or at the cinema.
I was in a Liberty X video (in the background, quite far back, in a dark corner). On a more serious note, I have been a Stopgap candidate and client so have a good insight into what it's like to recruit and look for a job.
I have been a candidate and client of Stopgap before joining the team and really appreciate the care and genuine passion that everyone at Stopgap has for doing a good job. We love being able to help candidates find their ideal role and love nothing better than hearing that they are loving turning up to work each day. Equally it's always rewarding to help a client find a candidate with a specific set of skills that they need.
