Supporting research & insight specialists of all levels in achieving their career aspirations – and helping clients maintain their ‘dream team’.
I spent 11+ years in research both agencyside (Ipsos MORI and Isis Research Hong Kong) and clientside (Legal & General, British Airways and Shell). Back in 2003 I was lured into the world of recruitment by Stopgap and besides a 2 year gap in 2011-2013 (to live in Canada) I have been with the company ever since.
Reflecting Stopgap’s commitment to flexibility, I’m now working remotely based up in the North West of England. After many years of living in London or abroad I’ve returned to my place of birth and am now watching my pre-teenage children grow up frequenting some of the same places I did (with a few changes noted!). When not taxi-ing children I really enjoy exercise (after many years of rowing training it’s just part and parcel of life) and I’ve also noticed a developing interest in gardening – something that has made my mother rejoice! P.S I’m down in London on a regular basis and always keen to meet people face to face.
I’m a big fan of Stopgap (as you can probably guess from my length of tenure!) – uber supportive employer, great colleagues and an approach to recruitment that I absolutely identify with.
This involved: Using Google Translate on a constant basis, trying to make out that having a skiing lesson in -25 degrees is perfectly normal, introducing winter sports in a big way – as well as skiing, ice-skating (best quote from my son – “ you didn’t tell me it was going to be slippy”), (much easier) utilizing one of the many outside swimming pools to deal with the 3 hot months in the summer.
