My focus at Stopgap is on CMO, VP Marketing and Marketing Director roles in the services sector, especially technology (including adtech, edtech, fintech), FS, NFP, business intelligence, professional and business services. I work Monday to Thursday in a job share with Moira Pierce.
I spent almost 20 years with the kinds of businesses I work with now - accounting and law firms, at HM Treasury and the National Lottery - progressing to director level. This included six years as a freelancer, often getting consultancy projects via Stopgap! A brief (five year) stint of teaching English and Media Studies to 11-18 year olds gave me a further set of skills useful to a recruitment professional, as well as valuable insights into the world of education. The last seven years with Stopgap have shown me the ropes of how best to do recruitment. All added together, I feel well-placed to help clients and candidates make the perfect marketing match.
A committed Francophile.I’ve been brushing up and improving on a very old A level so that I can now do most transactions and actively participate in social conversations in French.
Three years ago, my partner and I walked Mount Toubkal in Morocco, North Africa’s highest mountain, to raise money for two charities close to our hearts. I also run the good old 5k Race for Life every year.
When I moved into the world of recruitment, I felt a little bit embarrassed telling people because of the industry’s reputation, however, seven years with Stopgap have changed my mind. The best practice we operate with and the values we live by really do underpin everything we do.
I love activities that my grown up children don’t mind doing with me!
